It's cold but no snow accumulation. The shelter's pretty quiet. I'm meeting candy at the courthouse to help her get her birth certificate. Then she can go talk to the people at Oasis and see about a bed. So far this morning I scrubbed the medical cots and folded them up. I had trouble getting to sleep last night. I kept thinking about the move, the county forced on the clients. It was probably a good move for most of them, but for the five people that bonded in the shelter that have medical issues, it was not a good move. The power at the hotel is going on and off which means their oxygen concentrator stopped working. Feel the toilet facilities are porta potties outside. A couple of them have more needs than that. But they all will have better food service here.

These are our bathrooms and showers. Candy was supposed to return after her interview at Oasis but she didn't.  I called Oasis to find out what happened to her whether they were going to let her say or not and they said they couldn't tell us. But we should keep looking. Our mental health provider found her a bed at a shelter. Now we need to get her here before they give the bed away. 
     It's 4:00. No candy. I called my boss to let her know I think they're closing the shelter on Friday at noon but we haven't really received official word. We only I have two clients in the shelter. I gave Wes shelter information. I have a card to give candy, but she isn't here. I even tried to follow up with her at her dad's work. It seems like all her hard work is going down the drain.
  International world kitchen brought us pizza. And Red Cross sent 40 servings of chicken and lima beans and rice. We're drowning in food. I got to go for a second walk. I hit 10k steps for the first time today
   We boxed up a lot of the food, and gave away a lot of the food. By the time 7p came around still no Candy. I'm off tomorrow but the shelter says they will hold her bed till Wednesday.
     Now to plan my day off. 8 an the Laundromat 5 miles away opens. There is waterfalls park to go see. I need to procure a salad for tomorrow and Saturday. Cindy wants a salad too. There are some ski areas around here.

I finished packing and left for rc HQ. I went the wrong way on the freeway and it was 3 miles before I could turn around. I was trying to get there at 7a. Well it was 7:15 but no trouble. I returned my first aid kit. Turned in my, cpc card. Made copies of all my expenses and expenses report, turned in receipts. Turned in car keys and reported the scratches on the car.  Met my ride and we set off to the airport. The gps took city streets instead of the freeway. It took about half an hour. In the river district we passed more evidence of Helene's destruction. Checking in and security was very quick. I usually fill my water bottle from city water after security but if course the water is not potable.  I had to buy some. And they're happened to be a cinnabon stall. I bought a mini one. It's a frosty morning. Mary and I went to do laundry and met a road crew from Tennessee. Then we went to get coffee for our co-workers. I got a call from Fran at headquarters and I'm being reassigned as well as Rhonda and have to be in Asheville tomorrow by 9: 30am. I have to bring all the DHS supplies with me back to headquarters. It's a lot of stuff. So I'm dropping Mary back off at the house to sleep then I get to go exploring. I stopped at the Christmas shop  We have been seeing it every night. All lit up on the way home from the shelter. I had to stop by. Next I went to waterfalls Park. Apparently that's the same park I saw the other waterfall in. But I got a much better view. It's 11:30 now so I'm going to go get myself and Cindy a salad for lunch from the hospital salad bar.        From there I hung around at the shelter and had my lunch. Hoping I could sit...
